Ahmed Mohamed

A 26-year-old young man from Al-Misbar Village in Hodeida. His family is one of the families whose condition worsened due to the bad economic situation, and since the deterioration of the situation in Yemen in March 2015, Ahmed was one of the people who lost their jobs and daily wages and became unable to support their families and provide them with basic needs.

Ahmed was one of the targeted beneficiaries who kept receiving assistance (4 food baskets) for 4 consecutive months as part of the project. He saved the money that was once spent on food and started a small business in a grocery store for selling foodstuffs. Since then, his business has been considered as a source of income for his family.

Through the community committees’ follow-up, Ahmed said that he gave an opportunity for residents to improve their living conditions and rely on themselves without waiting to receive assistance and to look for job opportunities to improve their economic situation.

“I feel happy and proud that my family began to return to living stability and that my children began to return to schools. I am now considered as a role model in my village, and many residents come to buy their needs from my grocery store; thus, my story will be a success story for people to remember thanks to Life Makers Meeting Place Organization (LMMPO) that supported not only me but also many other beneficiaries,” said Ahmed.
